Have you tried a hashtag introductions post to introduce yourself? You can also use hashtags when posting topical content- some apps will aggregate your content under those hashtags. Engaging in discussions is likely your best bet to build a network. To find people use the apps that support hashtags, check out the Discover tab of various apps where people are featured.
There are so many killer apps. You just need to die on that particular hill. Decentralization is Nostr's killer app. Censorship resistance is Nostr's killer app. Lightning is Nostr's killer app. A portable digital social identity is Nostr's killer app. Pick one!
It is so funny how few see it. When given a completely different paradigm and new protocol the complaints are about things that are downstream….they’ve been given a free world full of opportunities but they still want their cell!!!
For most people who use pre installed operating systems , it is hard to imagine that #nostr is permission less ! Just like an operating system, nostr ID is a local affair ... You decide how to guard you credentials .. In essence , nostr turns internet from an application to an operating system ... The applications that will be written on nostr are beyond imagination just like no one imagined a spreadsheet when Unix came into being ... For now , during proof of concept phase , most applications are just a retrofit of legacy web .. social , messaging and information paddling are just the initial use cases .. the real applications begin with value exchange among digitally native beings .. they are coming faster than we can imagine :{

I got a couple comments today on Twitter saying “Nostr needs a killer app.” Bro the killer app is that you can’t get banned. View quoted note →

I am concerned about the costs of running a relay though, seems like it can add up quickly if you're a free relay or don't charge users enough. Using the lnbits plugin seems to be working okay for me but it's not the simplest thing to setup.
