Parents who monetize their children psychologically damage them by turning them into participants in an economic and social system before they are fully autonomous human beings. The child then internalizes a version of βgreatnessβ imposed by the parent, while carrying the lifelong burden of managing, financing and sustaining an identity they did not choose.
