platform vs public space For my own understanding, I put this in a physical realm thought experiment: A public space is a square or agora, if u will. A platform, let’s call it a stage, is build on such a public space. People can speak or perform on the square or on the stage. One is permissionless the other is not. It doesn’t tell you anything about the quality of the speaker or performer, if they are on that stage, but it sure directs the attention. Public spaces give anyone the option to speak or perform. That does not exempt them from consequences of that action of course. The best part is: I decide to stay and listen or go somewhere else. All can be said, that doesn’t mean you have to listen. The great Bitcoin and nostr synergy; Protocols, not platforms. A protocol is just a language, no need for a middlemen. A platform facilitates the communication, thus they can censor and corrupt as they please. It's time we learn how to talk again. Talk the language of remote communciation and the language of value transfer. The middleman that current assist us "talking" have failed us, and will continue to do so. View quoted note β†’
