Are modern beds a scam? πŸ›οΈ More and more people claim sleeping on the floor is the proper way humans should sleep. Sounds crazy? Well... it should heal all back pain, lead to a stronger body and better posture. Yes, I tried it and it was NOT AT ALL what I expected πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Full Video:

Coincidentally, have been sleeping on the floor (carpeted floor & on a yoga mat, mind you) for a week now and it has been a surprisingly pleasant experience tbh. I literally only had 1 night where I woke up more than once, but also a small caveat, I was jetlagged when I first started this so that probably made the transition easier for me. Anyways, overall I haven't felt huge differences to my physical well-being (although I feel like it might be helping me recover from workouts quicker - but this might be a placebo effect) and my overall need for sleep has been declining for a while now anyways, so I also can't really comment on the validity of that point that much. But since I have no bed nor a mattress ATM and for now, haven't experienced any downsides to sleeping on the floor, I'll continue doing so for the foreseeable future.
Day 2 my sleep quality according to my oura ring was back to normal levels for me, I have long running sleep issues though. Not sure how to describe how I felt this morning. Sore but the sore felt good, I know that doesn't make sense. Kinda like how after a perfect workout you feel tired but the tired feels good. I really felt deeply compelled to move in a positive way. Couldn't wait to get into my morning workout and still feeling good after the workout.
I didn't watch the video but I have a personal story to relate. Sometimes my lower back hurts because of sitting in a poor posture. Sleeping on a bed no matter how firm just makes it worse. But sleeping on the carpeted floor fixes it and in the morning I'm magic again. Yes, it hurts to sleep on a hard floor. But my back somehow needs that. I wouldn't do it if it didn't work, and I only do it when my back is hurting.
So glad that someone re-noted this video. First things first: your home is gorgeous. Wonderful video. Educational and vulnerable of you to film it. A dear friend of mine, her daughter has scoliosis and she sleeps on the floor every night.
Try using a thinner pillow. I have been sleeping on the floor for the last 2 years and I use a soft travel pillow to sleep on it. Also try to use a carpet or something to separate you better from the floor, if the floor is cold that is not going to be good long term anyway. Your body is exchanging heat with the floor while you are sleeping.
Tried this myself and can approve it! My back feels a lot better after a week on the floor. The crazy thing about it is that everyone I told about my experiment said to me: β€žyeah I already heard of it, tried it and it helpedβ€œ πŸ˜… Even my mother is doing this from time to time. Anyway, I will do this for some more days, but Iβ€˜m pretty sure that I will get rid of my mattress in near future.
