"I just got lucky." I can't imagine a more cruel thing to say to someone who has nothing to show for the last 10 years of their life. To say "I just got lucky," is to tell them there's nothing they can do to make a better life. No matter what decisions they make, no matter how hard they work, none of that matters. There's nothing they can do. It's to say, "If luck doesn't smile on you, your life will be meaningless, and you will die miserabe and irrelevent." It's words of discouragement. To say "I just got lucky." Is to wish others harm.
Great message. I'm here because I woke up one day and realised I didn't like where my life was going. It's never too late to change direction, learn something new, do things differently. You don't have to have it all mapped out; take it one step at a time and let little everyday decisions compound in your favour View quoted note β†’
Sometimes people get lucky when they are offered the opportunity to develop personal strength, resilience and personal wealth from loved ones dying traumatic deaths or suffering life limiting illnesses, from war, from childhood trauma, from permanent injuries, from a vast, humanity wide set of variables. We are all lucky to be on our paths. Life is a long winding path friens. Gratitude and humility are beautiful attributes
