For anyone who doesn't understand why the Star Spangled Banner and the US flag are revered so highly by Americans, please learn about the shelling of Ft. McHenry during the War of 1812.
If anyone ever kills me and the deranged use this to ironically mock me, let them know I was aware of their reaction and I stand by my words anyway. Itβs worth dying for.

Honest question, is there a difference between dying for things you say; vs dying to physically protect yourself or those who are being forcefully oppressed from having a voice?
Probably since the beginning of mankind, there has been a psycho somewhere willing to kill somebody just because they are βdifferentβ.
Meaning, to the original post, could it not be said that everyone who dies, say in a war, both sides, are dying to protect βfreedom of speechβ.
Freedom and free speech are inextricably connected
I get that, even though both of those do not mean freedom from consequence.
However, my question is better put; how does one determine if someone dies for protecting freedom of speech or because of freedom of speech?
