This is such a generational discussion and fight. I had my college age kids read this - they don’t see a need for secure communications, encryption, or digital ownership. They have “nothing to hide” and don’t see the problem. Given their generation are our future, how do we convince them to care about censorship and digital freedom? View quoted note →

A bit late to the party but I think a thorough understanding of history starting with the covid debacle, paired with a taste of real world dynamics would do the trick, but it has to be rooted in a deeper understanding of what freedom is. Without a freedom reference point, permissioned surveillance systems like social media look harmless.
