Junk food, a drink, and good company

Was thinking about this more: Personalized gifts are an option if you are less familiar with him or snagging him for a meal is tough: Home made cookies are always good(just a few, not a ton). You can also decorate them with messages or with things you know he likes. Personalizing it let's him know you were thinking of him specifically when you made them. A T-shirt with something he likes on it, or a mug. For most guys, utility is more important than how it looks, but if it matches him and does a job, its even more appreciated. The reason guys generally don't appreciate flowers is because they don't do anything productive... Keep it simple. When I was in school, girls used to give mix tapes to boys they liked... I'm not sure any of the boys in my grade understood that was why... The girls were sending subtle messages in their song choices and it went way over the boy's heads.

I'm thinking a case/pack of mixed beer; like a seasonal sampler, or collection of imports. They're short-lived, just like flowers, and an enjoyable way to know someone cares enough to give a gift.

When hungry, any food. When half-hangry, some food with preference. When one wants to level up, gourmet food but I bet he mostly would do with burger anyway. The male variety is simple. Sophistication is rare in this group but exists. 😀
