Because you _are_ nature.
Which means you canβt move away from nature
But you can suffer in the denial of your true self.
That is by design. A people removed from nature are FAR easier to control.
People who believe in democracy are easy to control.
The truth is democracy robs freedom of choice from minorities and from individuals. Democracy is the biggest oppressor of all time.
Unalienable rights and individual free agency is the liberator.

My experience as well. Over and over.
Couldn't agree more. These days I'm cycling and hiking to get away from the bombardment of election news. π«π

Yes. Tug on one thing in nature and you will find it connected to the rest of the world.
That's a fact, Jack! Chaos doesn't breed peace. π
Touch grass, anon!
I think balance is key.
We need to connect with the mother but we also need our brothers and sisters.
My property backs up to a nature preserve. (It's basically a swamp). I spend a lot of time back there with the kiddos. But I'm not trading my air conditioning for anything.
My happy place is a cabin in the mountains with me, myself and I.

You mean the nature of phenomena? Buddha nature
argumentum ad naturam β a rhetorical technique for presenting / proposing that "the more natural something is the better".
yet, many phenomena present in nature are considered undesirable even by supporters of this argument, such as diseases, parasitism, famine, natural selection, natural disasters. at the same time, many phenomena absent from nature bring benefits, such as medicine, health care, support for the elderly and disabled, agriculture, plant selection.
nature & ecology is important for suffering less β but just as medicine, agriculture & mutual aid. wild animals getting eaten alive don't seem to suffer less than domesticated.
Β«Treatise on the Steppenwolf. This treatise, cited in full in the novel's text as Harry reads it, addresses Harry by name and strikes him as describing himself uncannily. It is a discourse on a man who believes himself to be of two natures: one high, the spiritual nature of man; the other is low and animalistic, a "wolf of the steppes". This man is entangled in an irresolvable struggle, never content with either nature because he cannot see beyond this self-made concept. The pamphlet gives an explanation of the multifaceted and indefinable nature of every man's soul, but Harry is either unable or unwilling to recognize this.Β»
Steppenwolf (originally Der Steppenwolf) is the tenth novel by German-Swiss author Hermann Hesse.

The higher the tree to human ratio, the lower the suffering.

Thereβs an irony there. Depressed people lock themselves away. The more they suffer, the farther they move from nature. Get out every day. Find green
