Local host is only for long term archive storage, i.e. you download the video you want to keep to your local hard drive. Hosting is done on blossom servers, i.e. it the same technology that host normal media content on NOSTR. Your local host uploads the content on request. Currently it works because traffic on NOSTR is low. In the medium term we need micro payments for storage and maybe even for watching.
My hope is that we'll have a swarm of archivist that run novia or similar to preserve what's there (and eventually make it available to others for ecash, cc @calle)

We are excited to share this intro video with you. Bringing video archives to NOSTR. There are still a lot of rough edges but we are looking forward to your feedback.
