Of course it is politics. Clearly you have never worked with local, county, state, or federal representatives. You would be amazed at how things actually get done. It is by talking to them. Especially at the local and state levels.
Federally, if you 8x the number of reps in the house, repeal the direct election of senate, and you have an entirely different congress.
Add term limits, no crossover between house and senate would be possible anymore(unless the state legislators elect them, way less likely and constituents have very good influence at this level).
Add in spending and money restrictions, and its win for all sides except the government and the subsidized complexes.
Thats why I am working to get the states convention first, while at the same time in constant comms with state, and local politicians.
If you think you can't get things passed or repealed or amended at these levels, you are very much mistaken and have never tried.
