I know you can add a strike.me lightening address in your profile and can receive zaps from others. Have not tested setting it up to send zaps from a nostr client.

I saw that too, that would be really simple if works! I haven't tested. If already have a strike.me account seems a lot easier to send and receive zaps. Will test it out, when get set I'll send you a few test zaps.

The lightning address in your profile is just to receive zaps. You can zap with any lightning wallet. If you want to zap without leaving your Nostr client, you have to use NWC or use Primal which has a built in wallet. I made an NWC server for Strike, but you have to self-host it.

I'm using Primal on DT now and do not see where to set up wallet, only place to add strike.me address? I appreciate your help, real green here ;o)

What’s DT? Only the Primal mobile clients have the built in wallet. It’s the lightning bolt button in the middle.

Also, it’s not that bad to have to leave the client to zap. The Nostr client pops you right into the wallet when zapping and it’s easy to go back to the Nostr client when you’re done.

I just run the NWC server on my MacBook at home whenever I want to use it. Don’t need to host it in the cloud.

Ah, cool...thanks for that info about leave client to zap. DT is desktop so I need to access with android to see wallet? I see the lightening bolt next to heart but doesn't do anything when click...I know I am just not set up right yet.

There is no built in wallet in the web app. You can only zap with a webLN chrome extension wallet like Alby.

I zapped ya went to 42 sats bolt lit up and then goes back to nothing.

With what client and what wallet? That probably means you never completed the payment or the payment failed.

Got it, waiting for Alby code now. But from what I am learning from you I can zap just with having address and enter from my strike account? I don't need Alby either if I use your NWC server? When get this figured out will zap you for training ;o)

From primal on web using strike so like you told me it does not funtion that way, just lights up the bolt and reverts right back with no chance to complete anything. I think I know what to do now and will work on later today when can and will zap ya.

You don’t even need a lightning address in your profile to zap. That has nothing to do with sending. It is only for receiving. Most clients let you zap with any lightning wallet. Primal web is an exception where for some reason they only let you zap using WebLN. Alby is the only Chrome extension I know of that supports WebLN.

That UX could definitely be improved. They should display a message telling you to install Alby.

Got it, so you can zap me and see my strike.me now? Just want to know what others see and then will show up that I got zapped? Do you know how to get those invite codes from Alby or just have to wait? Seem handy! So I can se where to zap you and just send you some sats from my strike right?

I just tried on your profile and did pop up a box to zap ya custom amounts. When tried it gives message unable to send but not what to do. The other time no message is when clicking the bolt below message. I've been online since 95 and use to be an IM and really love all this stuff but I am old school and need to catch up lol. So I guess to send the way I just tried need Alby and have to wait...that kinda lame but it is what it is. So I will set up android for now and get back to ya. Why don't I see your receive sat address easily when trying to send, just because on web or will try another client too. Any other web client you reco? I have old eyes and hard to use android.

I zapped ya 5k sats as test to your lightening wallet as test. So when do that way does not show up on your feed here at nostr? Testing this all out.

Sure, thank you! I wasn't able to send on note so just used your lightening address in your profile and sent directly from strike.

You can adjust the font size in the primal mobile app. I mostly use Primal and Coracle on desktop.

If you do that, that’s just a normal lightning payment and not a zap. Nostr is not involved at all. You need to generate the lightning invoice with a Nostr client in order to zap.

And way to do that is with way you already told me, right? I may be getting close to getting an Alby invite or can I generate lightening invoice with just client?

You should be able to generate an invoice with any Nostr client besides Primal web

Ah, right on. Yeah I just scanned your lightening code (the one with norstridge) but with strike app says invalid address. So yeah, just primal web. Will zap again later when get on android.
