I just had a conversation with my wife about how negative and awful most of the internet and social media have become. Interactions are driven toward conflict and cruelty, or are just people stroking their own egos and vanity. Itβs happening with kids and adults alike, and in fact a lot of the behavior exhibited by adults is just another form of playground bullying and high school popularity contests.
But somehow, in this free and open place where nobody can be censored or banned, weβre not just nicer to each other, but we celebrate each othersβ differences. Sure, we poke fun and troll, but we do it out of love, not malice. We also make fun of ourselves, because, letβs face it, none of us are as dumb as all of us. Is it perfect? Nope. But itβs what we need most right now, and it could not have come along at a better time.
Itβs a beautiful mess, and it works.
Good night. ππ«π€
