Well this post is missing the context of my original one which is to say I gathered this from kind 3/10002s using search.nostr.wine data so it is a rough estimate of the popular relays people connect to through the most popular clients. I also removed a LOT of old offline relays that people continue to have on their list. I never tried to claim it’s a perfect list but the data is out there for anyone else to replicate I didn’t just make it up.

Just to clarify - I used the term “read” just because I wanted to be clear that these are not necessarily paid writers of paid relays, only readers. Not that they are actually “reading” the write-only mutiny relay. I owe utxo’s relay an apology as it was down at the time I compiled the list so it was removed though it ranks up there. In addition, I suspect the mostr bridge numbers are underrepresented.
Ah thanks, ya context is good. All I'm saying is these stats are hard to collect and inherently skewed, wine search is pulling these lists from the 'top relays', then obviously those top relays are in the list. But are they really the top? Probably not, eg. no Japanese relays mentioned, which are probably pretty popular. Basically I see a list like this and it just seems like a centralization feedback loop.
