Good rant, much dystopia. I can't help but think of this moment in time, the LLM singularity, as the moment I became old. Old man rants at cloud status. That's gonna be, or already is me. It makes me realize it's technology that makes us older, and not time.. It shapes society monumentally as well, leading to some very strange behaviors that feel alien in nature compared to the social norms we were used to.
One thing I noticed, your rant is so pure, there are no solutions to any of the problems here. I have noted this, as LLMs are even more inevitable and more important to use than almost any previous technological advancement. The same bad things can be said for "search" and yet I was catapulted into my career in 1999 simply by being good at searching. Same will be true for LLM use.
RIP stackoverflow and tailwind. However, their resistence and plans are unlikely to survive this as they should be more than halfway to a pivot by now, not just rejecting 'the future' and clinging to what worked in the past.
