idea: iphone/android call feature where instead of initiating a call right away, it sends a “call request” text message that expires after N minutes. If the user clicks accept the call goes through. Would be a polite/more chill way to initiate a call

plz stop incoming spam calls. wish I had a personal AI answering service to screen for spam and only allow callers thru that want to give me money and block callers trying to convince me to part with my money.
Or just text - "hey call me"
bestie and I already do this. We don't call each other without permission. "are you available to talk?" and then we negotiate from there 🤣
then I know if she calls me w/o permission it's a GD, defcon-5-level emergency.
everyone in my family understands this except the (adult) kids. 😂 they get carte blanche.
I have one friend who will *never* talk on the phone. We've been on a phone call ONCE in 15 years. it works. she just hates phone talks. 🤷♀️
