Pre-crime is here baby! After “we have closed your account because we suspect you have committed a crime,” here comes “we have closed your account because we suspect you may commit a crime in the future.” DARPA has announced plans to launch a pre-crime AML program that attempts to stop money laundering before it happens, and it’s just as bad as it sounds. This is the stuff that nightmares are made of.

This was bound to happen as technologies advance. There has to be a clear line at which point AML can no longer infringe on our rights. Government bureaucrats and global standards setting bodies will always use the excuse that they want to stop crime in order to get as much information on you as is possible. Since algorithms are much more powerful today, I'm sure the excuse will be used after a major crime event happens around the world To use novel, innovative technologies to prevent crime and anti-money laundering. Compliance is a mind virus and unfortunately most of the companies around the world including Bitcoin companies are heavily infected. It turns value-based, honest businesses into mindless zombies who bend over for any requirement that is sent their way. In the government I work for, whenever the term AML or anti-money laundering is used, laws just pass without question. There is practically zero debate on these types of laws because "everyone agrees that we must stop criminals"
So it will push people out of the banking system and force them to cut out these trusted third parties?

Danger - wait…. Calle (whom seems to have developed a taste for *pff*) warned that anyone saying “I stated before …” was not to be trusted - derangement abounds in the *pff* block. 🔱 image nevent1qqsf5jfju5yyt0qxcd4k86xd7whxjx542ch9a6dmfljyan0ljfpm7xsfdtdgm
