i'll let you know when i've made progress getting the damn websockets working, and also, the subscription endpoint obviously needs some attention

This is going to be legit cool, once we get it all straightened out.
The frontend will try to maximize the stuff Realy offers, if we detect a realy service, otherwise it downgrades the feature set to an "only websocket relay" backend, or again to an "only database" backend, and again to an "only browser database" middleware.
That's what I meant by local-first, backend-first, test-first architecture.
