The "Nostr FUD" that I heard while in Riga came from people that were afraid to put in the work, IMO. The most confusing FUD was from a UX designer that told me Nostr wasn't ready for good UX design yet. Repeatedly. I'm not sure what he meant here. We're still building the tech and to focus on that? We don't have a large enough user base to waste time on it? Either way, I believe that we're at the perfect pivotal point for great UX. We need onboarding and an intuitive UX to entice the next wave of users. If we don't build it, they won't come.

It is extremely difficult for a new person to come to Nostr and know what to do to get started. Which ACTIVE accounts to follow. Which hash tags to use to be seen. #plebchain #introductions (few nostr people respond to this.. and not as helpful as it could be..few follow and follow up support. #zap Which wallet to set up and how exciting this is. #zapathon When explained this makes new people excited usually. But few get that far. #coffeechain And the GM, GN friendly culture here. Adding a few more relays is helpful. Getting people onto a nest πŸͺΊ nest ASAP! This is an extremely under used tool. Even Nostr people don’t use enough.. do you still have to have 3 to start a nest? This is a critical failure. Bots could start I know, people will recognize bots and leave or see and never join. Real Nostr people will go into rooms with other real people. @Derek Ross
Also it might be better for a nest to be DISCOVERABLE here: @Nostr Nests With only one person nesting. VS Being announced. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”- Maybe keep the β€œannounced” part the same.. when 3+ people are in a nest. The way it is currently unless someone sends a note or a DM nobody knows someone is trying to start a nest. #plebchain
I was as guilty as the next until my 8th suspension on FB….that’s when I looked deeper and followed the tech. It was time for #Nostr, it just hadn’t been created yet. But I promise this…YOU DON’T miss the others…The real FOMO is Nostr and the beautiful souls here. Every Morning, #CoffeeChain #Weedstr and #PlebChain πŸ’œπŸ«ΆπŸ»πŸ’œπŸ§‘πŸ«‚πŸ§‘ and I feel the love! #Bitcoin is the Way!
Classic Fiat Behavior is wanting everything "Handed to Them and doing none of the Hard Work". It tends to roll into UX/UI. But the thing is, this entire "so called UX/UI discipline didn't exist pre 2000". I mean I rolled my eyes at it, but you could spend an entire career just doing typography or color theory if you wanted to at Ogilvy or IDEO, really modern UX/UI in my humble opinion isn't much further than that. Its just Good Design, and Good Design is a Simple Extension of the Art world, with precision. The whole fussy frontend behavior I find disgusting. Its become even more common place post 2008 iPhone era, unless you grew up in the era of Green screen or Black and White text. I mean this was GOOD UX/UI back in the day and still is for us developers who are backend. And it STILL IS. Tell'm to get over themselves! P.S. We backend devs can design. We just choose not to be snobbish fools about it. *wink wink* image
