It's strange to me that they didn't see this cluster-f coming. Assume large part of twitter's value comes from high profile people engaging in mutually beneficial tweets. Wouldn't it be obvious to figure out which accounts those are and keep them blue for free rather than trying to suck $100/year out of them. I am likely falling into the "he doesn't know what he doesn't know" trap. I must be missing something obvious.
I learned more on blue mark removal on Bette Midler posts. Later I learned many got their blue marks back. Fairness came to my mind. Now Twitter gets to pik-n-choose who gets them for free. Are there any fairness in this? pros VS cons?
