- Use it offline (in intranets)
- Bearer instrument (you can put the token inside things, think of an onion data package)
- Reliable (you can stream zero tokens of which none will fail)
- Programmable (you can have spending conditions, like with Bitcoin)
- Liabilities auditable (soonTM)
It's not a replacement for noncustodial Lightning at all. It's just a different way (better in almost every way) of using Bitcoin custodially.
