Usually I wouldn’t amplify this kind of low-signal trash, but honestly I’ve seen more people than I can count try to claim I’m somehow being “paid off” because they think anyone who questions their Knots religion MUST be “compromised.”
Let me spell this out clearly: no one is paying me for my opinions on the efficacy of filters.
I’ve also never told anyone to run core, and have said many times you should run whatever node software you want, and that you don’t need to update your node software because it’s backwards compatible. I don’t care what you do, and neither does Bitcoin.
Until we have different ***consensus rules*** we’re all bitcoiners.
You’re free to run whatever node software you want.
Go out and touch some grass, then try creating value and stacking more sats instead of being playing identity politics with your relay policy.

Bro, that’s a long way of saying you’re just dumb but not corrupt 🫠

Consensus rules is what we fight to death.
@walker don’t trust, verify.
I can count on one had the current number of podcasters that have been in the space longer than myself and it’s clear to me that you are simply relying on the opinions of those you trust most. But I will say that I am shocked at a fairly good sized group of OGs that show far less care than was the case back during the block size wars.
I personally don’t like being called a bitcoin maxi because my interest and curiosity in innovation, and the fact that life can just continually get better is the reason I found bitcoin in the first place. Maxis that believe there couldn’t possibly be something better than bitcoin are just status quo 2.0 Maxis. Toxic maxi mentality that prevents them from being interested in other technologies is the same as Fiat Maxi mentality that prevents fiat dummies from understanding bitcoin.
Personally, I think we ought to support the development of multiple “bitcoin 2.0 options” to harden and secure our financial future.
But if there’s one thing I’ve learned about preserving and growing wealth, it’s that you cannot be overprotective about what works and what you have. And whether the v30 camp is correct or not, the fact that they are not willing to communicate better or delay in order to educate or discuss is careless, reckless, and anti-ethos. You know, consensus/transparency/community/verify.
And what I see the anti-v30 camp doing is much more ethos-aligned.
Don’t trust, verify.
