It syncs automatically, in high-bandwidth, to the "external" storage (other local relays, remote relays). That means, you can run a Realy on a computer in your LAN, and then use it to move stuff onto HTTP for all of your machines because it can pull everything and send it to you over REST.
Like a Nostr Internet Beacon.

Then it could pull books from wss://thecitadel.nostr1.com and broadcast it to your e-paper reader over WLAN. And you can use the same connection to comment on the book or reply to someone's highlight.
