I would go to Tallin, Estonia and visit the old city. Holy cow, it's beautiful, one of the best old towns in Europe. I haven't been to Helsinki though.

I would say 2-3 days is more than enough, my wife is from Latvia, so she knows the region well. Maybe she can answer questions better. @Katherine
