good case in point about why I stick with open source #selfhosted solutions whenever possible: I'm finally messing with Cloudflare for some work-related uses, I made a couple Turnstile widgets two days ago, first time ever using the platform, and now 2 days later the layout of the table displaying these items has changed... the rate of pointless change in free software is lower. it's not zero, but it's broadly lower. that's a major selling point to me, because I simply don't have mental acuity or life force to spend on adapting to pointless software changes, and no the cost of a new table layout suddenly appearing is not zero for all neurotypes!

this is why I really don't like learning about MS365, because getting stuck into a business of supporting that type of monolith and then having to keep up with all their product managers just in order to continue to be good at one's job... it doesn't work for me. I have a certain limited amount of cognitive work I can do per year on average, and shit like that doesn't make the cut.
