Most days I'm incredibly optimistic because of how far weβve come and because stuff mostly works. Today I'm incredibly frustrated because a lot of stuff I care about is still incredibly broken.

This is how I feel towards our wins in Nostr & my generational cohort/peers using mainstream social media seemingly not wanting to take the initiative to make the shift to Nostr. Itβs either TikTok this or Instagram that. I left that ship a long time ago & I refuse to put myself to go through the KYC process again.
which is why instead of waiting around for someone to build mainstream alternatives - why not build it ourselves? @ZapTok is my attempt.
Does this solve everything? No. Will this fix the broken system? Iβd like to think so, but eventually, in the (hopefully) not-so-far-distant future.
Admittedly, I cannot do it all by myself. Iβd be crazy to think I can replace a behemoth of a tech empire on my own. But we can contribute as a community. At least Iβd like to think so.
So @Gigi how can we help?
Cool work. That's a follow.
Most days, I'm just chilling because of how chill everything is. Today, I'm chilling because everything is chill.
I have this theory that certain aspects of the ecosystem are entering a "reasonable men forced to do unreasonable things" phase. We'll see. I am hopeful. Raising the bar is the only thing that will help to offset the repetition of past mistakes.
I know how it feels bro π
Either start building the things you care about yourself. Or support other builders in building the things you care about. If you can't do either, don't get discouraged.
Great advice.
Not long ago, whenever we tried to do something on Nostr, the expectation was that it wonβt work. I think now the expectation is that it will. Progress!
Now we need to make sure it actually works 100% of the time.

I feel the sameπ
We would greatly appreciate your feedback on Nostria, it's a new Nost app and service, developed primarily by @SondreB
Adding new features all the time, fixing issues, improving and tuning. Every new user that tries it out, gives us valuable feedback for improvements.
It's still a work in progress, we have come far, yet there is more to do. Thanks!
We just need to believe in it, as our internet ancestors did.
