@Jornal de Brasília image After iFood announced a bonus for delivery drivers, 99Food also launched its campaign and promises to pay R$ 800,000 in bonuses until January 18, 2026. Motorcyclists can participate in the Bag Premiada campaign starting this Monday (22). The action is aimed at those who work in the city of São Paulo and the metropolitan region, where the company has delivery service: Guarulhos, Osasco, Barueri, Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo, São Caetano do Sul, Diadema, and Itaquaquecetuba. According to the company, participating motorcyclists will accumulate lucky numbers according to their weekly goals. Those who deliver 20 to 49 packages receive two numbers, those who deliver 50 to 99 packages receive six numbers, and those who deliver 100 packages or more receive 15 numbers. The campaign will award prizes that can be used to buy up to 14 motorcycles, 21 electric bikes, and 63 cellphones in raffles. At the end, there will be a prize of R$ 100,000 for a single winner. The draws will be held with the authorization of the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets of the Ministry of Finance, and the winners' names will be announced on January 5, 12, 19, and 25. The prizes will be paid through gold certificates deposited into the winners' accounts. 99Food is a Chinese company that returned to Brazil this year after a failed experience between 2020 and 2023. According to Simeng Wang, general manager of 99 in Brazil, the company's main mistake in its first attempt was the lack of adaptation to regional differences. Now, it is betting on local market mapping to grow. The delivery service restart began in June this year in Goiânia, where the platform registered over 1 million orders in 50 days. Then it arrived in São Paulo and, in October, in Rio de Janeiro, with investments of R$ 500 million and R$ 350 million, respectively. The plan was to invest R$ 1 billion in Brazil, but after a meeting with President Lula in September, the app announced it would double the value and reach R$ 2 billion to gain market share. THE DELIVERY WAR The delivery market in Brazil, previously dominated by iFood, changed with the return of 99Food and the entry of Keeta, from Chinese company Meituan, which is the world's largest delivery company. This has started a kind of war, involving not only competition for consumers, restaurants, and delivery drivers, but also allegations of espionage and lawsuits in the Justice and Cade (Administrative Council for Economic Defense) against accusations of unfair competition. In July, iFood announced a bonus of up to R$ 3,000 for delivery drivers, which began being paid in December. The program is called Super 2025 and is part of a package of benefits. The minimum payment is R$ 900. According to the company, 10,000 delivery drivers will receive the award given to those considered most engaged over the past six months. iFood projects to invest R$ 17 billion in operations in 2026 and expand the number of orders to 1 billion per year within the next three years, according to CEO Diego Barreto's announcement in August at the iFood MOVE 2025 event.
