The Secretariat of Public Security of the Federal District (SSP-DF) and the Federal District Military Police (PMDF) carried out the Integrated Operation SCS on Monday (22). The initiative is focused on combating property crimes and strengthening security in the Setor Comercial Sul (SCS), one of the most strategic and busy areas in the center of Brasília. The action involved the participation of the Federal District Civil Police (PCDF), the Federal District Department of Traffic (Detran-DF), and the Federal District Fire Department (CBMDF). The operation marks the start of the operational activity of the Public Security Unit (UISP) in the SCS, consolidating a new model of permanent state presence in the territory, based on institutional integration, intelligence, and qualified occupation of public spaces. The work is based on the coordinated use of the PMDF's 1st Battalion, which will adopt the UISP as its fixed operational base in the SCS. From this new arrangement, the traditional services provided by the police station in the region will be expanded with the specialized activity of the Tactical Operations Group (GTOP) and the Tactical Motorcycle Group (GTAM), reinforcing ostensive policing, immediate response capacity, and continuous presence of security forces. The operational strategy is based on technology, with targeted video monitoring of the SCS cameras, including facial recognition and vehicle plate reading resources. The Secretary of Public Security, Sandro Avelar, emphasized the importance of integration between corporations and the valuation of professionals. The Commander-General of the PMDF, Ana Paula Habcka, highlighted the permanent dedication of security forces and institutional integration. The Undersecretary of Integration in Public Security Policies, Jasiel Fernandes, explained that the logic of the UISP expands the state's response capacity by articulating humanized security, institutional integration, and the integrity of actions. The commander of the 1st Battalion of the PMDF, Márcio Rogério, stated that the intensification of actions directly impacts the daily routine of the region. The SCS Integrated Operation gives rise to planned and articulated actions in the SCS, which can occur through specific initiatives of a single institution and joint actions between different organs of the Federal District Government, according to the dynamics and needs of the Setor Comercial Sul.
