This is quite unlikely to happen anytime soon. We live in a bubble. Right now that conversation % "in real life" is less than 1%, with bitcoin breaking 100k to all time highs.
I assume you haven’t been through many cycles?
In other words, I don’t think you realize how fast this can change when we break some invisible mental barrier that just makes it so it can’t be ignored anymore.
It goes very quickly from “nobody is talking about it even though it’s gone up 100% on the last year” (we are here) to “bitcoin bitcoin, but bitcoin will bitcoin because bitcoin isn’t even working but bitcoin will fix it and we can fix bitcoin if bitcoin but bitcoin could be better yet bitcoin is a ponzi but I bought some because bitcoin people are stupid and bitcoin ponzi will work for a few years bitcoin bitcoin bitcoin bitcoin.”
Bitcoin is only 16ish years old. You haven't been through "many cycles" either.
However, I've heard talk about how bitcoin will be what everyone is talking about since at least the 2013 cycle.
My point is we live in a bubble. You can admit it or live in denial about it. Normies are not talking about bitcoin in any meaningful way at this point of time.
I believe Joe Carlasare says something along the lines of: this will be a very frustrating time, where bitcoin keeps going up in price well over 100k and yet most people will continue not to care about it.

It’s going to be worse than that though, because this will be the cycle where govts either jump on board, or aggressively argue against it, and the entire political and corporate sphere will be sharing their “feelings” on the matter.
Totally. Though, I'm used to my ideological opponents strongly expressing their baseless idiotic opinions. That I can handle. What's WAY more annoying is when my ideological allies are strongly expressing baseless opinions that my ideological opponents will expect me to be able to defend.

Looking at my environment, I don't think the NPC will even begin to realise what bitcoin is in the next few years. They will go on with their lives without realising that we are taking over the global financial system through the back door.
