I've been saying from the start that the government of El Salvador was secretly paying both foreigners and locals to promote the country as a Bitcoin paradise. The good news is that many Bitcoiners are smarter and more skeptical than the average fiat-minded person, making them harder to fool. Many of the videos and X profiles pushing this narrative were met with Bitcoiners calling out the lies and exposing the propaganda. President Bukele had no idea what he was doing. He thought that attracting Bitcoiners from around the world to live in El Salvador would bring in massive investment. The reality is that only a tiny fraction of the global population owns Bitcoin, and an even smaller fraction has become wealthy from it. Who convinced him to pursue this plan? Max Keiser? Even if that small group did move to El Salvador, the investment impact would be minimal. Most Bitcoiners are long-term holders, saving for retirement—not looking to pour money into a developing country. And let’s be honest: most wealthy Bitcoiners wouldn’t consider relocating to El Salvador. It’s a third-world country with prices that don’t match the value it offers. There are far better, cheaper, and more developed options available for high-net-worth individuals. One thing most Bitcoiners agree on: never trust a government, even when it claims to support Bitcoin. As long as governments are part of the fiat system, they lack real accountability. Like you said in your video, most El Salvadorans are struggling to survive. They live paycheck to paycheck, with little savings or purchasing power. Bitcoin won’t help them much in the short term—but it might be a step in the right direction. Ultimately, Bitcoin adoption must come from the people—not from governments trying to force it top-down. I’d like to think he would’ve made it happen if Bitcoin pumped like we all hoped that it would. He has kept his word on the biggest items that were effecting his country. They come first and the majority of them didn’t want to see this city come alive.

Government's top down policy can't change anything.
