A lot of very specific pushback to this entirely general statement... Taken in its generality though, I don't see the argument against it. Politicians are, to a rounding error, opportunistic and self-serving. That's why they're in politics, instead of doing something more productive.

Until Trump, I agree with your statement. We had to deal with the RepubliCrat Party. The degree of difference between the two parties was negligible. But this is different. When Trump said he was fighting to give the country back to the citizen, the fight really started. This is a war of right vs wrong. It's not Left vs Right. This is The Haves vs The Have Nots, and the Have Nots will use violence and the power of gov't to take from The Haves. It's a battle for the ethical & moral treatment of our fellow human beings. Is it ethical to take other people's money without consent? This is the question because you take someone's money without consent, you are enslaving that person. What is the root of money?
