It’s very telling when someone hates government overreach when the Other Team is in power but loves government overreach when Their Team is in power. You should hate government overreach no matter which color of the uniparty is in power.

I can't believe nobody sees it.... Democrats are happy to encourage people to take to the streets. Republicans are happy to respond with deadly force. Both sides want civil war to usher in mass surveillance, digital currency, Al takeover, and technocratic rule. We are not eachothers enemy. Not the people you come across online or at the gas station. The financial/ political systems in place are. Until people realize this en mass, it's all pointless.

I absolutely agree with this, but it’s interesting to see you post it. The conversation you had with @Marty Bent recently suggests you don’t actually walk your own talk. Marty was in agreement that the US government that it should bomb civilians in Caracas, Venezuela. The way you hosted the interview it wasn’t clear you disagreed. I was quite surprised that Marty had the view he did tbh… Talk is cheap sometimes, especially when there’s questions over the
I agree with this and a similar X post from @Jameson Lopp It is the most likely explanation plaguing both sides. The fight and vitriol is not about Freedom or Equality, it’s about being right and self-preservation of identity. Within the past 2 weeks this has been so clearly exemplified Privacy and 2nd amendment now make sense to liberals Conservatives all to quick to turn their back on an avid 2nd amendment proponent Ask yourself what it is you are truly defending (answer: an increasingly centralized and powerful D.C. who is not acting in your best interest but is very good at convincing you otherwise) Are you defending who you believe you are or what you’ve been told you should be? A lot of very specific pushback to this entirely general statement... Taken in its generality though, I don't see the argument against it. Politicians are, to a rounding error, opportunistic and self-serving. That's why they're in politics, instead of doing something more productive.
Have principles. Show moral courage. Take time to contemplate the view on the other side of the fence. Be intellectually honest and impartial. Stand up for what you believe consistently even when it applies to someone that has different opinions than you. Just be decent and fair. View quoted note →
Until Trump, I agree with your statement. We had to deal with the RepubliCrat Party. The degree of difference between the two parties was negligible. But this is different. When Trump said he was fighting to give the country back to the citizen, the fight really started. This is a war of right vs wrong. It's not Left vs Right. This is The Haves vs The Have Nots, and the Have Nots will use violence and the power of gov't to take from The Haves. It's a battle for the ethical & moral treatment of our fellow human beings. Is it ethical to take other people's money without consent? This is the question because you take someone's money without consent, you are enslaving that person. What is the root of money? Amazing things are happening in our World right now.
