nostr decentralization can be achieved in more than one way.
it seems everyone is focused on this inefficient “blast every note to every relay” model. clients read and write to every relay which is awful for read bandwidth and privacy. long term, altruistic relay runners will shut down leaving only a few large relays.
I imagine a future of many smaller, interest-based community relays (like a subreddit). the client selects the relay context then reads/writes there. if the relay censors simply spin up another, it’s permission-less. this model actually incentivizes running a relay because uncle jims actually care about their community.
