This will have enormous ramifications for Bitcoin in the coming years. Normies wonβt get the nuances. The mainstream knows Adam Back as the big Bitcoin guy. And they wonβt know or care some Bitcoiners called him out before this fiasco unfolded. This is probably the biggest PR disaster in Bitcoin history, outshining even the crackdown on the Silk Road. Itβs going to be a painful bear market.
who said bitcoin was a PR venture?!
Are you retarded? If no one wants to touch Bitcoin for commerce, Bitcoin literally fails. Adoption requires reputation and this pushes the project back years.
No one will care in 2 weeksβ¦just like everything else. All will be forgotten if number goes up
Number wonβt go up for a couple of years at least.
adoption requires market need not PR BS

Donβt be so sure.
Donβt count on any time frame long or short.
If thereβs one thing Iβm sure of, its that bitcoin doesnβt do what anyone expects π»
Your Walker impression made me chuckle π
Dude is such a tool
Matt is getting better at those π
Did Adam trust without verifying ?
WHAT DA?!?!? Not surprised. Recently watched some interviews with Adam and there was something off about him I just could not put my finger on. Iβm not saying itβs this, but my intuition was telling me heβs full of shit

Unbelievable. Fucking scum. How and why the actual fuck are people not hating on these freaks?
Because many have built their identities around the narrative that core devs are technical geniuses and knots are idiots. Now when the tide recedes, we saw who was swimming naked. Itβs causing them cognitive dissonance.
Does this news put the Blockstream hardware wallets into question?
That demands a fairly complex answer, but since they use the blind oracle, it's worth thinking through.
My short answer is, I think it is unlikely to pose any attack surface unless there's something really wonky about the blind oracle. And even then, I think if one was using a BIP-39 passphrase, you'd be in pretty decent shape.
But it is imperative that you decide this for yourself.
Thank you. Yeah, itβs the blind oracle that makes me a little nervous.
Though it sounds like their wallets would still be fine for multisig as well.
AXA also invested in blockstream.
π€ maybe he says csam isn't a risk because that would actually make it more appealing to the criminals that rule the world
They don't need Bitcoin for that. The risk is Epstein was directly connected to the major banks, central banks, and the Rothschilds.

Two things that changed our understanding of the world: Bitcoin and the Epstein files.
Kratter, Spitting hot alpha.
Great synopsis

Hilarious how desperate you are, building a theory based upon an assumption that someone would mistype "Adam" as "Andy."
Regardless, all of your strained ad hominems are irrelevant in the context of the spam debate. Adam's reputation, whether it be good or bad, has no bearing upon the debate.
This is all just cannon fodder for your delicious drama vlogging π
you defending adams actions just because kratter is attacking him? This is low iq slop lopp.
I donβt understand why Adam doesnβt just clear the air on what exactly he was doing in the meeting and potentially on his island. For some reason he refuses to
You'll have to be more specific. As far as I've seen, all this Epstein stuff was Austin Hill's doing.
Link? I missed anything about a meeting actually happening, let alone a visit?
A simple "LOL didn't go" or "I went and just chilled at the bar with my nerds" would suffice.

Decrypt
Jeffrey Epstein Invested in Bitcoin Firm Blockstream, Invited Founder Adam Back to Island - Decrypt
Adam Back confirmed that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein invested in Blockstream as newly released emails point to a planned island visit.
Thatβs not a link, thatβs someone elseβs take. So, againβ¦link?

Bro.
Oof. Visiting certainly not a good look. Not exactly uncertain what they were doing (raising for Blockstream), but not a good look.
Yeah, kind of necessitates a clearing of the air, per @jb55. He's taken the time to address Blockstream's divestment, but not his "look".
And if that's the case, then it's perfectly reasonable to assume that it's the same reason that the rest of them aren't talking either.
And people can yell about how that shouldn't be assumed, but there's a really easy way to fix it.

he should explain why he flew to the place next to his island, and what he did when he was there. this is a cop out
The game theory is wait until the DoJ is done releasing the evidence of everything you, uh, totally didn't do.
if I went to his island/near his island without knowing what I was getting into, i would get that shit out as early as possible and explain what happened. hiding it is sketchy af at this point
My comment poorly implied as much, and if you DID do something that you're unsure is in the doc drop, the only dismal option is to wait until the DoJ is done.
Even then, you may just now be someone else's blackmail bitch.
Unless you're innocent, then the best move would be a little different, don't you think? It's actually game theoretically poor once you get past the first level... I now see your next post too though ha, so I was not enough levels deep to understand your point.
But it sounds like Adam's pretty deep and something also sounds like he might benefit from saying something.
I wonder if his lawyers are advising him on what to say and not to say yet.
That story may not have the ending you would like...
Daphnr
it's too late, they should have talked about this a long time ago
epstein has been in the popular zeitgeist for many years, they never said a word
if they say anything now we must assume it's not the full truth
Oh, I didnβt realize that he went there lmao
what about jeremy rubin? many meetings, almost knew the guy intimately, never said a word
Rubin was corresponding as late as 2017 in an incredibly familiar way, which makes semse, since Epstein funded DCI+MIT Media Lab. The emails I read are super dry, like a status report to someone Rubin feels professionally beholden to.
Epstein had 9 years distance from his 2008 conviction at that point, but people don't really appreciate what a nothing burger it was treated like. His sentence was super lenient, and even when he was imprisoned, his cell was left unlocked. Nobody seemed to gave a shit, and it's easy to see how, if Epstein is your benefactor, and everyone seems to be pretty cool acting like the that child prostitution thing was all blown out of proportion, then why not continue the beneficial relationship? This appears like a collective lapse of judgement (a really weird, major one) than a specific one of Rubin's part.
Cope harder Lameson.
Cope harder pliz
Do you realise that people lost faith in you as maintainer? Nobody cares what you have to say even if it's about something ridiculous like this.
shut up
LOL found the knots guy
Kind of chewing on this, and there is an alternative explanation.
Right now, there is very little incentive to explain oneself. Think about the case of a woke moral purge.
Does the mob stop pressing when they get an apology? Would Luke and Matt Kratter and the mob behind them actually back down, if they got a clear explanation or apology from Back and Jeremy Ruben or Bryan Bishop? Would the tech press suddenly stop ragging on bitcoin as GoyGold?

As a Bitcoiner of 2010 I tell you that most of you lacked critical distance in order to properly: Do not trust. Verify!
Agencies mostly go for psychological factors they identify as weaknesses. Everybody has those. But if one side has basically all the knowledge about how to psychologically infiltrate and manipulate one while the other side/group has no idea they become an easy target.
The thing I need to tell you is. TradFi have captured the whole market (sorry, but including BTC) to a degree that they can and NEED to blow it all up now.
They have Digital ID and CBDCs ready. Cash almost phased out while they controlled Monero for the last 6 years. If they don't move now Monero will become digital cash endangering their agenda. That's why you see them doing the reveals themselves now.
A PsyOp is like an intel asset that lost its value. You get rid of it as fast as you can while spinning the news cycle.
