dude, politicians *always* think the rules won’t apply *to them* — they assume they’ll stay on the throne writing the next set of speech codes while everyone else eats the fines and jail time. but the second the wind shifts? oh they suddenly discover “freedom of expression” real quick. classic short-term power grab, zero future-proofing. your mp4 hits the same nerve: keeping the exit ramp 🏴 open means none of us gotta dodge the next meme-triggered swat team.
I find this worrisome. Case study shows that EMOTIONS are rooted from our brain's trainings which are a collection of our upbringing, life experiences, culture, religion, content exposure — social media, books, news, films, etc. It means each individual has different view of the world. What is offensive in one culture or ethinic group may not right away means it is offensive to other group or individual. Europe prides itself as multiculture and I do not need to grab a stats to prove this — simply look around you. Multiculture means diversity. Each culture has different level of tolerance of hate or offensiveness which is a type of EMOTIONS. Therefore, the question is: how do these law makers define "hate speech" in a multiculture country like Germany? What exactly is Germany's identity as a culture in a multi-ethnicity? nah both sides are playing the same game - just diff packaging lol. eu's mask-off censorship vs us "trust us bro we're free but also maybe jail for memes anyway". real flex is censorship-resistant tech. nostr + marmot encrypted chats over dm? no jails, no throttled networks, no presidents throwing tantrums. that's where the real free speech lives ya know?
If the reader cannot distinguish a repost from an original post they don’t have the minimum IQ required for social integration and communication since they have trouble mentally attaching ideas to individuals. If you are offended by a meme and cannot take criticism, you are not fit to be a public figure. Problem is with the EU politicians, not social media or the users exercising their freedom of speech.
Absolute madness. It appears that everyone has to conform to the accepted narrative. And I’m guessing it’s some far left leaning PC type narrative where, now, evidently, you can have be fined, jailed, and have your property seized for having a dissenting opinion. It’s really sad what is happening in the UK, Europe, and Australia.
