Most people think non-native EMFs exist only near power lines or Wireless devices.
But.. Solar panels create nnEMFs that travel further.
However, it's not the panels themselves,
The problem comes from the electronics, especially the Inverters & monitoring system
nnEMFs from Solar Panels
A LONG READ🧵

How does a Solar Panel work?
→ Panels convert sunlight into low voltage DC (24V) electricity
→ This DC electricity travels through metal conduit wiring to an inverter
→ The inverter converts DC to usable AC (120V) for home appliances Solar panels basically convert light energy into electricity using Inverters.
There are 2 main types of Inverters
1. String Inverter (Traditional)
→ Sits on the side of the house → Converts DC to AC in one place → If one panel is shaded, it affects all the others

2. Micro-Inverters (Modern)
→ One per panel, mounted behind each panel
→ Each converts DC to AC on the spot
→ If one panel is shaded, only its output drops.. not the whole system
When it comes to nnEMFs,
String inverters are generally better but...

but... only if they’re installed correctly.
Let's talk about the 3 main nnEMF concerns around these panels
1. AC Electric & Magnetic fields (ELF-EMF)
These aren't usually a big concern if the wiring is done properly in metal conduit because... because...
The Metal conduit (the pipe the wires run through) blocks Electric fields
and if the two wires inside (hot and neutral) are carrying equal power in opposite directions, their Magnetic fields cancel each other out.
But..
The inverter itself is a “point source” of Magnetic fields, similar to a Transformer.
This field is strong close up but drops off rapidly within a few feet.
PS : Don't sleep or work near the wall where the inverter or main panel is mounted.

2. Radio-frequency Radiation (RF)
Your solar system needs to send updates about how much power it’s generating.
Most systems do this wirelessly, using WiFi or cellular signals, often multiple times an hour. That means your solar system might include:
- A WiFi chip in the inverter
- A smart meter that sends signals
Or several wireless gadgets working together
PS : Use a system that uses a wired internet connection instead of wireless (like Locus LGate 101E)
Next is
3. Dirty Electricity (DE)
The Biggest Concern from Solar Panel setup
When your solar panels collect sunlight, they produce a steady, low voltage type of electricity called DC (direct current)
But your home doesn’t use DC.
Dirty Electricity 101
https://x.com/ze_rusty/status/1789945931875430804
Your appliances need AC (alternating current)
The kind of electricity that comes out of your wall sockets.
That’s where the inverter comes in. It’s the device that converts DC into usable AC power.
But that's where the problem is..
During that conversion process, the inverter doesn’t produce clean, smooth electricity.
It often creates extra, unwanted energy spikes that ride along the normal power lines in your home.
These energy spikes are called Dirty Electricity (DE)
What does Dirty electricity actually do?
→ It sends bursts of high-frequency energy (like 20,000 times per second or more) through the same wiring that powers your lights and devices
→ These bursts radiate out into your living space, even if the appliance is TURNED OFF → They can travel along the wires, but also through the air, affecting areas several feet away from walls or cords
→ They can even travel back through your power lines and into nearby homes, especially if you're all on the same utility grid
How do we know this?
Dirty electricity shows up as “fuzzy” or jagged distortions on special testing equipment like oscilloscopes.
Instead of seeing a clean, flowing wave of power, experts see a bumpy, noisy line.. proof that the electricity is full of interference.

For some people, especially those who are electrically sensitive (EHS)
Dirty electricity can cause symptoms like:
— Headaches — Poor sleep — Brain fog — Fatigue or anxiety — Tingling sensations
Even if you're not sensitive now,
Long term exposure to DE is still a biological stressor like background noise your body is constantly reacting to, even if you don't realise it. Once Dirty electricity is in your wiring, it:
— Spreads to every outlet & cord connected to the same circuit
— Can be present even when lights & appliances are off
— Comes from your own inverter but CAN ALSO enter from your neighbour’s system through shared utility lines Here are some Solar Inverter brands ranked by cleanliness (Less Dirty Electricity)
PS : I've zero affiliations with any of these
- SolarEdge HD Wave + DC Optimizers
It's a string inverter with optimizers and among the lowest in DE.
Optimizers allow panel level independence without full micro-inverter drawbacks.
- Enphase Micro-Inverters
Cleaner than most micro-inverters
but still RF-emitting. Avoid unless hardwired.
- SMA / Sunny Boy (Germany)
Traditional string inverter.
Known for low DE output, good for low-EMF setups.
Make sure to avoid models with wireless modules unless disabled.
- Fronius (Austria)
Also a String inverter.
Reliable brand but earlier models (like Galvo/Primo) used WiFi & created DE.
Later models are better, but disable WiFi.
Avoid
1/ Growatt
2/ Huawei
3/ GoodWe
4/ Solax Power
5/ Solaredge (non-HD Wave models)
6/ Tesla Solar Inverter / SolarCity (now Tesla)
All Generic/cheaper brands that generate high DE
PS : You can use a Stetzer/greenwave DE meter to test for Dirty electricity.
What about Battery walls?

Battery walls also known as home energy storage systems are large batteries installed near your home that store electricity
These batteries store excess energy produced by your solar panels during the day & release it when needed
Sounds helpful, right?
Well… yes and no.
Unlike solar inverters that only operate during sunlight hours, battery walls are always running.
That means they are actively converting & managing power 24/7, even when:
- Your appliances are turned off
- The power is not being pulled
- You’re asleep at night
Because of the way they're designed, they constantly inject high-frequency electrical noise a.k.a dirty electricity into your home’s wiring. If you're Electromagnetically Sensitive (EHS)
- Avoid solar panel installations completely
- Even low-DE setups might still trigger symptoms
- Once installed, it’s hard (and expensive) to remove leased systems
BUT..
If you still want solar setup..

-
Use better inverters (mentioned above)
-
Use wired communication (not WiFi/cell based)
-
Install a whole house Satic DE filter
-
Add plug-in filters if needed (use a Alpha lab/Stetzer/Greenwave meter to measure DE)
-
Avoid battery walls unless essential (and only with filtering)
That's a wrap.
