In anticipation of #Budgie 10.10's release and shipping in @Fedora Project #Fedora 44, I have just submitted a Change Proposal for its inclusion! I will be packaging up the components this week to go into rawhide ๐Ÿš€ BIg thanks to @Neal Gompa (ใƒ‹ใƒผใƒซใƒปใ‚ดใƒณใƒ‘) :fedora: for the help with the proposal ๐Ÿ‘
Fuck Google. Remember folks, there are other options to Android besides just iOS. Sailfish OS exists. Plasma Mobile exists. PureOS exists. They aren't going to provide the same level of experience. You won't be able to install apps that require more and more egregious attestation. You might even have to switch how you communicate and down the line as more developers bend the knee and turn on shit like Play Protect, change who you bank with or the services you buy. And you know what? That's okay. I'm not a personal liberty absolutist by any means, but lines have to be drawn somewhere. It's my fucking device, I will use it how I want.
Congrats to the @npub1gdsd...fse5 folks for all their fantastic work on #xfce420 and special thanks to all the work they have put in to libxfce4windowing (including responding to questions from us Budgie folks ๐Ÿ˜ƒ). Lots of great work clearly went into the 4.20 release, the XFCE community should be really proud of all the contributions that made it possible. If you're an XFCE user and appreciate their work, be sure to spread some cheer during this holiday season (if you can) with a donation to their OpenCollectives! Details and other ways to get involved:
I know it is seemingly criminal to some to mention other social networks on Mastodon, however would like to mention I am on Bluesky at Liam (of @Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ) has been doing a lot of fantastic work creating / maintaining lists for gaming, Linux, and open source (yours truly is also on there). I would suggest using those to follow a bunch of people and filter down after that. Also be sure to ask Liam to add you on the list if you do Linux / OpenSource things! Open Source one: Gaming:
