Dear Fedi friends. As some of you may know, I have a wonderful daughter Lila who had a severe form of epilepsy at the age of 5 months. This epilepsy is called West Syndrome. We had to go through a hell of a treatment to stop her seizures. The thing that helped her was called "Synacthene Retard". It's basically ACTH, a synthetic hormone similar to adrenocorticotropic hormone produced by our anterior pituitary gland. My daughter was one of the last kids who had a chance to get the Synacthene Retard from the lab that produced it (Alpha Sigma). This was late March 2024. And in May 2024 Alpha Sigma said they discontinued this product without ANY public explanation. I am trying to inquire about the disappearance of Synacthene Retard from French pharmacies. I am looking for contacts of a medical journalist or an expert in pharmaceutics to help me lead this investigation. It may save lives of dozens of other kids with that suffer from West Syndrome. I have moved an entire academic project funded by Open Research Area to Delta Chat @Delta Chat The project is called ClaimSov and is focused on analyzing discourses of "digital sovereignty" in EU, US, Russia and China. We have started with the question which messenger to use for our project related communications. We wanted to play the game of "digital sovereignty" and I suggested Delta Chat. The team decided to give it a try. Now we are two months into the project, and all the 13 team members from three universities are sharing several group chats, actively using webxdc apps for planning our calls and seminars, editing texts, voting for various decisions, tracking things on our agenda and even gaming. This is my first experience of using Delta Chat with my academic colleagues. I could only dream about convincing people, but that turned out so simple and I am glad we have done this!
📢📢📢 Urgent call for action against Chat Control! The EU still wants to pass the infamous "Chat Control" law, that would mandate scanning of all private digital communications, including encrypted messages and photos. This threatens fundamental privacy rights and can transform EU into a digital Gulag. Currently only 3 countries oppose this law, while 15 member states support it and 9 remain indecisive. This means, the balance can still be shifted! It is very important to influence at least those who are in doubt. For instance, you can contact a MEP (Member of the European Parliament) and demand to oppose to Chat Control. There is a tool that automates the process of writing and sending such letters:

I've been monitoring Iranian connectivity for ~72 hours. The country is experiencing the most severe Internet outages in its history, and they come in waves (some ASNs manage to restore connectivity then disappear again). A community of technologists and researchers is trying to come up with something to help people there. People share measurements, reports from inside Iran, tools recommendations and other tips. The situation is unclear because measures are often coming from the outside and first-hands reports are fragmented and dispersed. In these hard times (which are also a test drive for Internet Freedom Community who's supposed to help civil society exactly at the moments like this one), I decided that I need a T-shirt. A special T-shirt with a print that some people will immediately understand and feel the mix of pain and humor behind it. So here is the mock-up of the T-shirt. I hope you'll like it.
