It's a strange era. As a software engineer I always felt proud in the work I've done. Now, with AI, everything is getting cheaper and I don't value my work so much anymore. I kind of start to think that what I've just written could be done by anybody just through prompting.
But the more concerning thing is that I have the impression that I loose some skills because I constantly vibe code some parts of my project myself without thinking through the problems and I miss the part of how the solution might look like.
On one hand the new abundance is really great and I know there is no way back so I have to adapt. On the other hand it took much of the joy I've had as a developer.
AI humbles me, in the end code and Software development is information and that's what computers are good at. In hindsight it's obvious that white color jobs will be more affected then blue color jobs.
