Man found a way to conserve ice in summer, in the desert, long before the advent of electricity
The Persians invented the so-called Ice House, a building designed and built for this purpose. The ice, produced in winter, was stored in a large hollow area in the center of the building, so as to exploit the thermal insulation provided by the ground
The roof had a dome that prevented hot outside air from coming into contact with the ice, coming out of a hole on top of it.
