"Let's Play: Oblivion, starring Treshtog the Skooma Orc [Part 10] - the VOD!" is now available on Odysee
After reading up on it, it turns out the slow animation glitch happening in Oblivion the past while is a known quantity called the "Animation Bomb" or "ABomb", and affects all copies of Oblivion. It's a save game corruption baked into the shitty Bethesda code. It's apparently fixable with a tool called "OAF (Oblivion Animation Fixer)", but that's only available on NexusMods as far as I can see, and I refuse to make an account with them. The other way to fix this is to go into the .ini file in the game directory and change an animation speed setting from 1.0 to 2.0. Supposedly this fixes the problem by resetting the animation speed, but I've heard anecdotally that this can also fuck with jump height. Personally, the idea of a settings tweak making me catapult through the sky sounds really fucking funny, so I think I'll be choosing door number 2 on this one.
