Ew -- The Canadian prime minister pushed back at Trump’s characterization of the two nations being in “natural conflict.” Carney pointed out that Canada is the United States’ second-largest trading partner and is also a major foreign investor. He said the relationship between the U.S. and Canada are “maybe not so much conflict” but that they “compete.” “There are areas where we compete, and it’s in those areas where we have to come to an agreement that works,” Carney said. “But there are more areas where we are stronger together, and that’s what we’re focused on” #cdnpoli
So much attitude in such a small bird 😄 I *think* this is one of the new kids from this summer; her colours are quite tame Love seeing our female cardinals more often during the fall! They're even using the feeder a lot (it's usually the males who use it more) #SKyard image
Lmao someone passed us at about 40 km/h over the speed limit, in quite a dangerous way on the highway. A police car was waiting just a few minutes later and now he's getting a ticket. Kyle hasn't stopped laughing since then 🤣
Government services are necessary services offered to citizens. They shouldn't have to be profitable to survive. (Can be applied to multiple organisations)
We rushed out of our B&B this morning to make it as early as possible to Burncoat Head park to see the "world's highest tides" at low tide and walk on the ocean floor in one arm of the Bay of Fundy. It was such an incredible experience! They tell people to be careful not to walk in tidal pools and not to disturb anything. At high tide, the water reaches those trees on the "flower pot" rock. #SKtrip
We found the perfect ball of moss #mosstodon image
We spent most of the morning at Port Bickerton, looking at the old and new lighthouses, and also walking every single trail there. We were glad we had planned for a few hours there, it was beautiful! #SKtrip (Stéphanie and Kyle's trip)
I bought the worst strawberries... they're hard and taste like absolutely nothing. Doesn't happen often with Canadian fruit 😭
Carney knows this. So why does he want more wealth inequality? Austerity has *never* worked. ---- As the past four years and countless historical examples from the last 100 years show, while it makes sense for any one state to try and cut its way to growth, it simply cannot work when all states try it simultaneously: all we do is shrink the economy. - As Blyth amply demonstrates, the arguments for austerity are tenuous and the evidence thin. Rather than expanding growth and opportunity, the repeated revival of this dead economic idea has almost always led to low growth along with increases in wealth and income inequality. #cdnpoli
