New to nostr but totally feel at home. Love to learn, love testing and breaking things. Stupid questions incoming. Dad & Plonka. Rational Criticism is the way. Decentralised is the future. Freedom is the goal.
If I never have another interaction with Google it'll be too fucking soon. For my son to redeem a gift card he was given for Christmas we have had to send copies of reciepts to prove the purchase, go back and forward for two weeks with AI email responses, to finally get the gift card approved...... then when we try to use it it says "you must use it in the UK"..... Im in the fucking UK, you know I am. The next step is to fill in a form and submit the same receipts proving location of purchase. "Big Tech are so slick, and convenient"..... my arse, they couldnt organize a piss up in a brewery.
Really enjoying using @Fountain, didn't give it enough time initially, but it's a tidy, slick app with majority of all that I listen to on there. Lacking a few artists albums, but podcast wise it's great. Give it a go. Hopefully the team continue to grow and develop the app. It's a great alternative.
what are everyone's favourite non-bitcoin-privacy-self-sovereignty-nostr people to follow? I like reading about it and the tech involved (it's fundamental shit that never gets boring to me) but to grow nostr I envisage the likes of my missus, my dad, my son to be on here, who on the whole, couldn't give a shit. note: I've rewritten this three times now, as I feel bitcoin, privacy, self-sovereignty, nostr should obviously be talked about in the open, it's a great place to spawn development and I'd never advocate to dilute that. Is it simply a case that as "normies" (not keen on that phrase) find nostr that the OG concepts naturally become a lower percentage of the seen conversation (no less importance) and new pockets of interests grow? And nostr grows.... note note: so then, is content less important (as it will organically develop in to whatever) and just getting people here is the thing? Therefore, is the current content stopping people joining? (I know there's tech, UX, UI reasons too) Fuck me, I think I've met the back of my head on the way back to the beginning🀣 Please entertain me, its not a one size fits all answer, but it is a very important topic I've seen many people raise, so I wanted to put my scrambled thoughts down (I've just clicked 'Publish' as I've reread it 20 times now πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€£βœŒοΈ)
If you believe in something, and I mean it appears to you to be an absolute universal truth and your actions are directed by it, then any level of speculation or hope or worry or drift or noise is irrelevant. Only constructive criticism, discussion and adjustments to the "truth" will suffice. ....and enjoy doing it.
