Nobody should have to justify their eligibility for a Covid vaccine when most everyone was eligible in 2021. The reason we had eligibility by age initially was because the rollout was just ramping up and early supplies were still limited, so governments prioritized the most vulnerable, who tended to be the most elder. There should be no age limits on vaccine eligibility. It only exists now because governments don’t want to pay for the doses necessary to cover their general populations.

Me screaming once again for being proactively consistent in virus mitigation. • Wear a filtering respirator on your face to reduce inhaling a bunch of crap that could make you sick. • Ventilate and clean the air in buildings you inhabit and frequent. Run air cleaners, open windows, crank up the fans. Keep the air moving to reduce the crap that could make you sick and prevent it from lingering in stale, still air.
Thinking about December 2021, when businesses and entertainment venues were trying to reopen fully as Omicron exploded and mouthpieces were going on about “oh Covid is mild now” and the general public nodded in “it’s never going away, we have to accept that everyone’s going to catch it, learn to live with the virus” and how it was the largest steaming load of bullshit and it is infinitely embarrassing how many people capitulated to spreading a novel virus for the illusion of normalcy.
Oh, look, the Toronto Star has an article about Long Covid. I see you subtly past-tensing Covid and Long Covid by referring to data from 2023 in the current year of 2025, ignoring the true fact that people are still developing Long Covid and post-infection complications until one quote at the very end of the article. People with Long Covid need support. We also need to prevent people from developing Long Covid in the first dang place. https://archive.ph/LHAAX image

There is no acceptable level of risk when an asymptomatic infection can lead to infecting and disabling someone else. And it’s impossible to know who is not presently infected, asymptomatic, or disguising mild symptoms. “Am I JuSt sUpPoSeD to be in LoCkDoWn FoReVeR?” You are supposed to strap on a respirator around people not in your household AND improve ventilation and air quality in your home, work/school, and social spaces to the clean air.
It is 2025. Covid went worldwide in 2020. Covid is kindergarten age. Saying “Every time I’ve gotten Covid” is not a normal thing to say about something that’s only been around half of a decade. Try doing the stuff that reduces your risks of catching Covid. Make that stuff part of your everyday routine. Live life so that you can say “the last time I got Covid was when it was kindergarten age” when Covid is old enough to drive or vote or apply for pensions.
