โ€œCarry a mask with you and put it on when you feel like itโ€ is risk assessment by vibes. Vibes cannot tell you if a building is properly ventilated or if thereโ€™s adequate air cleaning or if that small group of people has an asymptomatic carrier amongst them.
Hereโ€™s the thingโ€” Putting on a well-fitted respirator mask gives you a barrier that helps prevent you from straight up inhaling raw germs and pollutants in the air and exhaling whatever germs youโ€™re carrying directly into the air. Washing hands helps removes whatever grody junk you mightโ€™ve touched and whatever grossness has landed on your skin. Getting vaccinated potentially eases the impact of the infectious dose of the virus on your body. Everyone keeps getting the order of these wrong.
Another thing coming up short in my search for resources is a guide for small businesses to pivot to Covid-safer practices. Iโ€™ve collected a bunch of lovely guides for Covid-safer event planning, a couple covering Covid-safer travel, and a lot of nicely detailed how-to guides and worksheets for getting through an infection. Nothing much about fitting air purifiers and CO2 monitors, encouraging respirator use, or how-to guides for budgeting for those costs.
