 Given the structure and dynamics of most media industries, it was pretty likely that as soon as GL series (as in, centring queer women characters) became a viable TV subgenre, their quality was going to leap ahead of BL series (those that centre queer men), and I say that as a fan of BL series. Basically, women generally have fewer opportunities in these industries and all of a sudden you have an entire genre where most positions require women. 1/n View quoted note →
