Btcpayserver has a dependency on Bitcoin core, but there are also plugins for strike, breeze, etc. if you use these plugins do you still need btccore or can you get by without it? Further, for the lightning support,I see it can run cln or lnd. Both of these daemons have plugins that can eliminate the dependency on a full node, could that work with btcpay? Any help is appreciated #asknostr #btcpay #btcpayserver #bitcoin #lightningnetwork
πŸŽ“ If you have a young person in your life that is struggling to find work, opportunity, and direction, I implore you to read this post and share with people you think could benefit from this. Young people need our help, they are staring down a terrifying, unstable economic future. I cannot imagine the despair they must feel looking forward. And that's before we even get into how AI is decimating the job market and doubling in capability every 6-12 months. πŸ₯³ But there's still one place that is ABUNDANT with opportunity, meaning, and paths forward: Bitcoin. Here's the TOP THREE reasons to work in Bitcoin and how to get started. 1️⃣ There is a TON of low hanging fruit in many areas: programming/development, UX/UI, media creation/eduction, implementation/consulting, etc. At least once a month I come across a idea that could be a big money maker, but nobody has taken it up because there is more opportunity than talent in the space. And that's something pretty crazy to say, given that the existing talent has built a 2 trillion dollar market. If Bitcoin was a country, it would be in the top 15 by GDP. And it got there in 16 years. 2️⃣This opportunity is across all scales from freelancer devs making their own products or chasing bug bounties to W-2 employment to seeking seed funding for multi-million dollar companies. This is a market that has been growing for 15 years and shows no signs of slowing down. 3️⃣This market DOES NOT CARE about your background. You do not need any kind of formal education. If you have trouble in the traditional job seeking environment, whatever barriers you face are practically non-existent in the Bitcoin space. The only thing people care about is signal and output. You've been to prison? You face discrimination based on your color, gender, nationality, etc? Bitcoin DGAF, only what you build does. Many of the best talents in the Bitcoin space work entirely anonymously, we don't even know their gender, nationality, etc. ⚠️"Crypto" gets a bad rap, and it should, but you should understand that there is a wide gulf of difference between people in "crypto" and people in Bitcoin. People in crypto are chasing quick money and making rug pulls, the pit is full entirely of snakes. The snakes don't go to Bitcoin, because the Bitcoin space is about the long-term growth of a public utility, and because no single person or company controls it, there is no way to leverage a privileged position to get rich quick. So the snakes generally avoid it. 😍 People in Bitcoin are genuinely enthusiastic about making a better future for humanity, and I know because I work with them every day. It is one of the few places I go where I am consistently humbled by the intelligence, optimism, grace, and character of the people around me. That kind of energy is contagious and exactly what young people need to stay on the right path and plot a valuable future. πŸ€”So how do you get started working in Bitcoin? - Educate yourself on the basics of Bitcoin and Nostr first. This will get you prepared to identify opportunities. Get an account on nostr, follow Bitcoin influencers like Odell, Jack Mallers, etc. - Bitcoin has multiple conventions every year, so does Nostr. And everything is online, free for you to watch. Check out Bitcoin Las Vegas and Bitcoin Prague. You will see what pain points people have with the technology, this is where your opportunity is. - Attend Bitcoin meetups, go to events and get into online spaces where people are talking about the tech. Skip anything related to investment, find those who are genuinely building. They are enthusiastic to teach you and get you involved. If you show up in these spaces with curiosity and enthusiasm, you WILL find opportunity. I know because I see it and have to pass on it every day because my schedule is already full.
