I didn't realize that Hetzner had expanded to the US. And their prices are WAAAAYYY cheaper than Linode’s now. (Turns out that charging 20% higher prices for the same resources over ~5 years in the web-hosting business makes you pretty easy to beat.) Seriously looking at Hetzner now. Any experiences running medium-scale applications there, like maybe 20 server instances with ~a terabyte of databases? Long-term reliability?
Stumped by this one. Setting up an iPad with iCloud restore, and none of the apps are downloading automatically. Tapping one brings this up. I'm on my Wi-Fi network, other connectivity works… and while this iPad does have cellular, no plan has ever been activated on it yet. Reboots and Reset Network Settings haven't fixed it. iPadOS 26.1. Tapping "Download" immediately downloads the item over Wi-Fi. Anyone ever see this? Any ideas? image
After a decade, [@_Davidsmith]( ) and I have published the final episode of Under The Radar. We're incredibly proud of our ten-year catalog of 30-minute discussions on development, marketing, monetization, work/life balance, and mental health for app developers. We've heard from so many of you already (thanks!), and the show also brought incredible value to David and me, for both our businesses and our friendship. We had a great run! Thanks for listening, everyone.
Every few years, I have to sign into AWS to do some minor thing, and there are 40 new levels of complexity to basic tasks, scary new terms and settings on everything that I don't want to touch, it turns out the one thing I needed doesn't exist anymore, and now I need to first create a user management system to set up assignment roles to tag my management assets so I can define an access policy for the one goddamn setting I was looking for
“OpenAI and Ive [are] working on a device roughly the size of a smartphone that users would communicate with through a camera, microphone and speaker. One person suggested it might have multiple cameras.” So… like… a phone? “…designed to sit on a desk or table but can also be carried around by the user.” So… like… a phone? “…sensors would gather data throughout the day that would help to build its virtual assistant’s ‘memory.’” So… like… a phone?
