Friends, nostriches, hodlers, lend me your ears. 🗣️ Today I’m officially launching @Sat Sorter — a Bitcoin budgeting app built with Shakespeare. Most fiat budgeting apps are data-harvesting machines that sell you out under the guise of “being financially responsible.” Sat Sorter is different. Sat Sorter is free and open source, and packed with features that make living on a Bitcoin standard easier. It integrates with BTC Map, so you can see where you can spend sats directly wherever you are. It will even surface local merchants in your budgeted line items so you can quickly spot nearby businesses that accept Bitcoin. It also uses the power of Nostr relays to sync your data, so you can access your budget on any device — without relying on centralized clouds that feed on your data. You can track purchases in two ways: * Manually log and organize any purchase you make * Or connect your @Alby  wallet via NWC to automatically track any transactions made with your Alby wallet You can also toggle between Sats and USD to view your budget on either a Bitcoin standard or a fiat standard whenever you’d like. While Sat Sorter is Bitcoin-first, I wanted it to be approachable for anyone. This felt like the best way for the not-yet-orange-pilled to still get the benefits of Sat Sorter — and to see, over time, what life on a Bitcoin standard could look like. I created the budgeting app I wanted to use, and that I thought other people would want to use too. I’ve never created an app before or done anything like this, so any feedback is very welcome. I built this to help anyone who wants to get their finances under control and know where every sat is going. Big shout out to @Alex Gleason, @Derek Ross, and everyone who has worked on Shakespeare to enable people like me to build things. It feels like magic. Give it a try at satsorter.com and follow along at @Sat Sorter Any feedback is welcome! With Block’s recent push to encourage Congress to pass a de minimis tax exemption for everyday Bitcoin transactions, it’s crucial to reach out to your representatives and share the message from btcismoney.xyz. However, another vital step is to encourage our family, friends, and neighbors to take action as well. Personally, I’ve noticed that many people I know are unaware of the ease with which they can spend Bitcoin at Square merchants across the country. It’s become significantly simpler to use Bitcoin as money for the everyday person. As cheesy as it may sound, I’ve written this message to my family to motivate them to take action. Whether they choose to do so or not, they’ll be more informed than before and can see tangible social proof that Bitcoin is a legitimate form of money that deserves to be treated as such. Below is what I sent. Take it, tweak it, make it your own, and share it. “Hey family, I hope you can help out your favorite bitcoiner. Recently, Square terminals have enabled bitcoin payments across the country for 4 million merchants, making it easier than ever to pay with bitcoin for goods and services. This is a significant step towards making bitcoin the everyday money I believe it is. However, there’s still one issue: taxes. Currently, regardless of how many sats you spend, whether it’s for a cup of coffee or a bag of groceries, you’re still taxed on capital gains. That’s why there’s a strong push for a de minimis tax exemption for any bitcoin transactions under $600. This is crucial to enable people across the country to not only use bitcoin easily but also feel comfortable doing so knowing that these tax implications are eliminated. If you have time, I encourage you to reach out to your representatives and urge them to pass legislation for this de minimis tax exemption. You can find your representatives’ contact information and a copy-and-paste message here: https://btcismoney.xyz/“
