You know I've been thinking lately. What if *every* UK website operator, or operator of internet-based services within the UK, blocked access to British visitors? Only let foreigners in. This would be an act of civil disobedience against the Online Safety Act, though it would not take the operator themself outside the scope of the Act, since they'd still be in the UK. I could feasibly do this for all my websites. Including for my company website; most of my customers are foreigners. Thoughts?

Reboot Tuesday is held tomorrow btw. december 2nd. it's an annual celebration of libreboot. the rules are simple: reboot your computer at least once. i used to require that you also use libreboot. but this is merely preferred. if you don't use free firmware, reboot your computer and also tell everyone about Reboot Tuesday, and libreboot:

it's the first tuesday of december, every year. i've done it every year since 2015. reboot tuesday this year is on 2 December 2025.

I'm making sure all orders are shipped *before* December 15th, 2025. I *may* do one or two orders after December 15, ready for before December 18th or so. But know this: from December 15th, I plan to take the rest of December off, and then return on January 5th. I will be in Germany for #39c3 and also miscallaneous adventures. So if you want a Librebooted computer before December 25th, better to order before December 15th, I'll push what I can out by the 18th.

I've emailed CCHQ, resigning my membership of the UK conservative party. I have observed an increase in racism, transphobia, other bigotry, even fascist ideology, in the national party, that must not be ignored. Just the other week, one Tory MP in parliament was obsessing over so-called "biological males" in women's prisons; nobody challenged her. As a proud anti-fascist, I do not merely choose to disassociate myself from such fascism; I also promise that I will strongly oppose it. Good day.

Petition: Repeal the Online Safety Act

We want the Government to repeal the Online Safety act.

I signed this petition ages ago, and wrote to my MP. I got an email today, informing me that it will be debated in the UK parliament on 15 December 2025. Specifically, the petition demands that the Online Safety Act be abolished. I don't expect much will happen. The government seems pretty hell-bent on destroying the internet. But hey, maybe hell will freeze over in the best way possible, and they start respecting civil liberties again. Crazier things have happened.
