Codeberg has over 200k accounts and only 1.2k members, which, if we assume that the recommended membership fee is the average, works out to ~50k€ per year in membership dues. They’re asking for old hardware to run CI jobs, because they can’t just go out and buy a Mac Mini. Please, folks, if you think a non-USA alternative to GitHub is important, and you have the disposable income: put your money forward. Or, if you just want to donate once:
LLMs, cognitohazard, "vibe" coding
I am, for some reason, still subscribed to Steve Yegge's blog, even though he went off the deep end years ago. A month ago, he wrote about "Beads", his new project, which is supposed to make "vibe" coding work. It's basically an issue tracker designed for LLM agents. You are welcome to read it, but I warn you: it's totally nuts. https://steve-yegge.medium.com/introducing-beads-a-coding-agent-memory-system-637d7d92514a
